About me:
I started work in a medical art studio where I was tought very quickly how to
draw for reproduction. After some years one summers day I was surrounded
in a beam of light and voices came to me 'You don't want to draw cross sections
of anaesthetic vapourizers any more, you want to draw cartoons.'
And so I did.
I began by freelancing in comics. I worked for Marvel Comics UK,
IPC Comics, DC Thompson, Grandreams and World International. It was
all drawing
licenced characters (Care Bears, Thundercats, Worzel Gummidge etc.). I haven't
included any of that stuff on this site, I just wanted to put on artwork in
my own style. I was doing OK then the British comics market collapsed overnight
(insert dramatic music here). |

I then started working for newspapers.
I was the studio manager of the South London Guardian Group. While
there I started doing some work for the
Daily Mail in London. Since then I have had work published in The Sunday Express,
London Evening Standard, Sunday People, Sunday Mirror and Daily Mirror. Presently
I am a staff artist on the Daily Mirror in central London.
How I work:
I can produce artwork to deadline and deliver via e.mail, zip or CD. I work
on the Apple Mac to create the cartoons, but can draw in the traditional
way (watercolour, pencil) if you prefer. I will send a pencil rough for approval
before going to finished art. Looking forward
to hearing from you.
